Help Support Mobius

We hope you have heard the good news, but if not, here it is: Mobius has recently signed a long term lease on a brand new, street-level space at 725 Harrison Ave. in the vibrant arts community of Boston?s South End. Now celebrating 30 years in Boston, Mobius will once again have a home for the Mobius Artists Group, its collaborators and guests!

Boston's Mayor Menino commented, "It's fantastic that Mobius has a new home in our city - and that their new home offers them a stable venue to produce, perform and showcase their work . . . The collaboration they will be able to engage in at ArtBlock will, without a doubt, ensure their continued success."

We certainly hope so! But not without your help.

Mobius is currently raising money for planned renovations including an additional bathroom, acoustic panels, and window treatments. Our new and remarkable space has the unusual feature of floor to ceiling windows on two sides. These windows provide tremendous communication with the street but we will need to have the option to block the light and frame views depending on the work. And we plan ongoing video programs in the window, viewable from the sidewalk.

We are grateful to our longstanding supporters and particularly thank the Tanne Foundation and Nonsequitur Foundation for their new support, which gave us confidence that we will be able to raise the money to renovate and operate this space. The City of Boston has also generously made a $15,000 grant to help get us going.

If you can consider a significant gift to Mobius at this time (it?s all relative to means) please do. Mobius is beginning its next 30 years presenting performance art, installation, video, and other media along with public forums for discussion and connecting the public with artists presenting work at Mobius.

Thanks for considering a donation if you can. Your donation will be fully tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
